Sunny wishes

The birds are chirping, the lakes are crowded, and people are strolling the streets in T-shirts and sunglasses. We, too, are singing a lot, brimming with ideas and news, and besides shorts and skirts, we have something much more stylish to show!

Elisabeth and Maria have recently become proud owners of new tailor-made dresses from Maxi Lasheras, who operates the Marillon Leipzig couture studio not far from our rehearsal space. Friedrich, Jonathan, and Michael are equally delighted with their specially made matching accessories in blue and gold.

Naturally, this called for new pictures. And this year's photoshoot took place in a new city, as our favorite photographer Anne Hornemann invited us to her studio in Halle. The day began with hair and makeup and continued with stunning photos in the beautiful Pauluskirche, ending on the roof of the Mitteldeutsches Multimediazentrum. And as the third picture already reveals, despite the current summery atmosphere, we have some Christmas news to share.

Together with the amazing and highly esteemed sound engineer Christopher Tarnow, we have embarked on the production of two projects. In addition to a publication in the Carus-Verlag for the Bruckner Year 2024, there will be – ta-da! – a new Christmas album this year. In keeping with tradition, our dear Ludwig Böhme has contributed an arrangement of various melodies from a Christmas classic. You can also look forward to two pop songs by Jamie Cullum and Coldplay. Alongside all the new arrangements, there is plenty to enjoy for fans of contemplative and traditional Christmas music.

Contrary to many people's wishes, not everything revolves around Christmas yet...

In the Calmus program workshop, several projects are in progress and will soon take shape. Whether it's devotion, survival, or through the night, we have a lot of new things in store. Likewise, you can look forward to old treasures. We will revive the BachArkaden program in three concerts with the lautten compagney BERLIN and just performed a version of the CD program Bach for five with a new lineup for the first time at the Bach Festival Arnstadt.
