Pre-Chills, After-Thrills, Snow Spills!

Are you in the holiday spirit yet? It took us a while this year, as our minds were occupied with anniversary reflections and finding a new alto. To get into the Christmas mood, we rehearsed for our concerts surrounded by fairy lights, candles, and punch. It worked!

Our Christmas program is ready and couldn’t be more tranquil. This year, the concerts center on Maria, a refugee who gave birth to the Son of God under adverse circumstances. Between our Elisabeth and Friedrich stands a pregnant Maria too, who will soon leave Calmus to welcome her child back home. Our hearts are heavy with both joy and sadness.

It’s hard to believe these concerts are so close, as our anniversary concerts were just weeks ago. We continue to receive heartfelt thanks and compliments, which deeply move us. Thank you for your love and support! What would we be without you?

Doesn't this look good? It probably sounds at least as good! If you want to convince yourself, you can tune in to the radio on December 20, 2024, at 8:03 PM CET and listen to our concert on Deutschlandfunk Kultur. It was an epic musical encounter with the two brilliant ensembles Sjaella and Singer Pur. Among other pieces, we performed Frank Martin's Messe pour double chœur under the direction of Annabelle Weinhart. Enjoy listening!

Lastly, we’re excited to share a long-kept secret: we’re partnering with the Rundfunk-Jugendchor Wernigerode! We’ve enjoyed working with this fantastic youth choir over the years and decided to enrich them with our expertise.
