Leipzig helps with Bach’s music!

Dear Calmus friends,

In cooperation with the Leipzig Bachfest and the City of Leipzig, we are broadcasting a concert from Leipzig’s St. Thomas Church on the occasion of Johann Sebastian Bach’s 337th birthday. The proceeds of the concert will help young people from Ukraine and will be donated to the members of the „Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine“, founded in 2017 by the conductor Oksana Lyniv.

The program consists exclusively of compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach. In addition to his motet "Jesu, meine Freude" there will be collages and transcriptions specially prepared for Calmus - works that comfort, reflect and touch. Bach's music for his 337th birthday should set a sign for peace and reconciliation and alleviate the suffering of young people in Ukraine a little.
