Here it is! Our new CD "Landmarks" just arrived!
It won't be available in stores until June – but for you, dear Calmus friends, we can present the CD today, in advance and exclusively!
We remain true to ourselves and once again make no distinction between "serious music" and "popular music". Instead, we have set landmarksin ten countries and created an album that is multi-faceted, borderless, thrilling, but also full of thought: songwriters meet avant-garde, folk meets jazz. South American rhythms groove alongside Yiddish melodies. You soon notice that it is not a long way from minimal music to pop and you can feel how classical harmonies are woven together with jazz sounds.
Masters such as Francis Poulenc, Leonard Cohen or Georg Kreisler are easily recognized, but you are guaranteed to discover plenty of new artists - such as the Cracow singer-songwriter Mordechaj Gebirtig or the South American composers Federico Ruiz and Aylton Escobar.
We are still sitting at home and healthy, yet we have to cope without the one thing that is our actual drive and motivation: the concert experience from person to person, the stage, the audience, the moment that cannot be captured by any camera. But that's the way it has to be – our health is our priority so for now we shall continue to stay at home. Particularly in this situation it is a great pleasure for us to present this CD to you today. By the way, this is the last CD with Tobias as our tenor and the first CD with Stefan as Calmus Alto! We spent five days in the studio, listening to everything, fine-tuning the sound with our sound engineer Tobias Hoff - and now it's ready, another Calmus CD that contains a lot of energy and love.
It's a kind of "creative globalization" - which we are now publishing just when everyone has to stay at home. For this special time, we have also come up with a special something - for a small extra fee you can have your CD signed by us and if you wish we will be happy to even add a personal dedication.
Therefore our recommendation is: Order the CD HERE, insert the CD at home, take your best headphones or the good stereo, close your eyes and go with us on a sound journey to Canada, France, Venezuela, Estonia, Austria, Poland, Brazil, Finland, England and the USA!
Please stay healthy - we look forward to seeing you again in concert, hopefully soon!
